Amplify Advisory is a CPA Accounting and Business Services firm with a core focus on quality, integrity and compliance. We work with small business clients to amplify the performance of business and the personal success of the business owners.
Amplify Advisory is a specialist Xero Gold Champion Partner working exclusively with discerning business owners who understand the value of high-quality advisory, accounting, bookkeeping and administrative services.
Over 17 years of working in the valuation and sale of small businesses revealed a substantial gap in the services being provided to business owners by bookkeepers and accountants. The starting point for any business owner to determine what someone might pay is the Profit and Loss statement and we would commonly see issues like rented equipment shown as assets, inaccurate or missing stock, unreconciled accounts and other significant issues which not only create an issue for ATO compliance but also substantially affect the owners ability to make business decisions, obtain finance and can easily prevent the sale of the business. Amplify Advisory is the solution.
Kate Shaw - Director
Kate is the Managing Director of Amplify Advisory, having first worked with the business back in 2012 when it was known as Business Bookkeepers Queensland. Kate purchased shares in 2014 and helped guide the transition into the Amplify Advisory brand. Kate loves the challenge of cleaning up complex files and uncovering answers through a bit of forensic accounting — especially those big, intimidating jobs clients are nervous to bring forward. The reward of transforming a messy situation into a clear, ongoing client relationship is one of her favourite parts of the role. Outside of work, Kate enjoys slowing down with her family, whether it’s a movie night, a board game, or a puzzle that may or may not end in chaos. Kate’s go‑to drink is a chai latte on oat milk when out, and at home it’s tea of any kind. A fun fact about Kate: at just 18, she travelled solo to Kenya with World Youth International, spending Christmas away from home for the first time and helping build a kitchen — an eye‑opening, scary, and unforgettable experience that continues to shape how she sees the world and connects with people today.
Shane Dingley - Consultant
Shane is Amplify Advisory’s unofficial IT support, founding partner, and Kate’s designated problem‑solver — whether she actually asked for the sounding board is another matter entirely. Since the early days of 2012, he’s been the go‑to for business improvement and recovery, especially the messy, complicated jobs that arrive with a slightly unreasonable degree of difficulty. On weekends, he’s happily working through whatever his wife Kath has added to the to‑do list. His drink of choice is a flat white (always rated, never wasted — TMB sits at a reliable 8/10). Outside Amplify, Shane runs Movement Health Clubs, but balances that out with a love for KFC and whisky.
Maddie Matsen - Office Manager
Maddie is the Office Manager at Amplify Advisory and has been keeping the place running smoothly since August 2026 — and yes, she proudly calls herself “the boss of Kate.” Maddie loves getting creative with our social media and is diving into the mysterious world of payroll, PAYG, and super like it’s her new favourite hobby. On weekends, she’s all about fun with her kids: beach days, park adventures, picnics, and any outing that involves delicious food. Maddie’s drink order depends on the mood — usually an iced oat latte with vanilla or two Equals (health level: variable), but she’ll never say no to a limoncello spritz or a French martini. As for a fun fact, she can’t whistle to save her life and can only click her fingers with her left hand… which she insists is both weird and impressive.
Julianne Mazoyer - Accountant
Julianne works across Bookkeeping and Tax at Amplify Advisory, having joined the team in 2022. She is particularly enjoying her growing role in tax, where every client brings a different scenario and challenge. Julianne loves finding the right approach for each situation, helping clients stay compliant while achieving the best possible outcome. Most weekends revolve around family time with her husband and two young kids, and whenever she gets a moment to themselves, you’ll find her tackling DIY projects or keeping busy in the garden. Julianne’s drink of choice is a soy latte with no sugar, and her fun fact is that her DIY project list grows faster than she can complete it — but she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Lisa Binns - Bookkeeper
Lisa is a Bookkeeper at Amplify Advisory, joining the team on 4 August 2025. Lisa enjoys working with all her clients for different reasons and brings a steady, reliable approach to almost every type of bookkeeping task. On weekends, Lisa loves caravaning and camping, going for walks with her husband and dog, spending time with family (both two‑ and four‑legged), gardening, and tackling projects around the yard. Lisa is also known to occasionally settle in for a good Netflix binge. Lisa’s drink preferences range from a strong flat white to water, Coke Zero, or a mid‑strength beer. When it comes to fun facts, Lisa insists she doesn’t have one — though the team suspects that’s not entirely true.
Toni Abberton - Admin/Bookkeeper
Toni works in Bookkeeping and Payroll at Amplify Advisory, having joined the team in February 2023. Toni enjoys working with all her clients, especially the problem‑solving that comes with every unique situation. Outside of work, she loves camping, travelling, spending time with family and tackling renovation projects on her house. A pot of tea is her go‑to pick‑me‑up, and her fun fact is that she wants to learn lead lighting — adding one more creative project to an already impressive list.
Open and Honest Communication
Communication is key. In our office we value speaking up and being open with each other, clients and anyone else who we may come into contact with. Keeping issues hidden, or not discussing something with the people directly can cause tension, problems and can lead to the breakdown of a team or relationship. We encourage communication in a respectful and honest way and ensure we are clear with our expectations of others, and what we are capable and prepared to do.
Integrity in what we say and do
We pride ourselves on our integrity in dealing with clients, our work and our day to day operations. We abide by the Tax Practitioners Board Code of professional Conduct and will act honestly and openly in all correspondence with clients, staff and any other stakeholders. We ensure the rules are followed and there is no blurring of lines. We are compliantly creative. It’s important that if errors occur (which they will), that these are acknowledged and dealt with – making sure we are trustworthy and stick to our word is important.
Consistency and Reliability
Our team is consistent and reliable. In dealing with deadlines, doing what we say we are going to do, being there when clients or others need us. Providing a safety net for others to fall back on is one of our strengths and knowing we have you covered and you’ve got us covered is essential in feeling secure and being a team. We are responsible for handling the information which provides clients with dependable and trustworthy financial information. Providing this reporting efficiently, on time, every time empowers business owners around their finances and enables them to create confident strategies to grow.
Continual Improvement
Learning is part of the fun. If we don’t know something, we will figure it out. Continual improvement is essential in our office and we are always updating processes and procedures based on feedback from clients, changes in technology or legislation or to improve efficiency. Nothing is a waste of time, it’s all learning. We can’t possibly think of everything ourselves, so it’s important to collaborate on changes in the office together, and by getting suggestions from everyone on ways to improve.
The importance of a balanced life
Everyone has a life and family outside the office. It is essential to keep perspective and ensure balance. We are understanding and flexible when it comes to making sure there is a good arrangement for all staff and clients. The work will still be there on Monday.
